The DIG THE GIG OU 2024 Semi Final was always going to be historic. This is the first time DTG has has ventured south and we are incredibly honoured that we have built the foundations for what has been an incredible ride thus far - A DIG THE GIG record of twenty two awesome bands registered and played - only eight made it through. Congrats to CRUZE CONTROL for taking out the victory in stye.

A huge thanks to Ed & Hirehim for the sound - Destynee and her hospitalities hero’s for looking after the awesome crowd and fans!

House Band Niche certainly warmed up the PA in style - belting out the classics big time!

The Hypocritical’s kicked off the night in superb fashion - the more they play the better everyone feels!

No Danger are dangerous - clever, calm and unassuming! Don't go changing gentleman.

Leo Lilley ripped into his three song set with vigour and purpose - one of Dunedin's favourite artists - its pretty easy to understand why.

Becca Caffyn and her band of legends played perfectly - her originals are extremely contagious - their cover of Fake Plastic Trees by Radiohead was intense but pure. Congrats on getting through to the DTG OU Finals.

Ani Saafa is one very cool cat - a powerful frontman that has no fear - Wonderful to see these guys grow across the comp and congrats on making it through to the DTG OU Final. Ones to watch out for come finals day.

Saurian are a force of nature - you always get the feeling when watching them live that they have this massive turbo charged fan in front of them trying to blow them backwards. It's real head wind territory but their music will always push them through the forces and beyond. A superb band and great to see the bass guitar being smashed to pieces in there final song - the rest as they say is history.

The Beatniks came and delivered - their explosive first track was mind blowing, their stage show super impressive, at this point they can do no wrong. Congrats on making it through to the DTG OU Final.

Cruze Control (as laid back as they are) have that ability to create tunes that surge with out you really feeling it until its too late - to be able to push and pull your crowd in subtle ways is a very special gift. They brought the crowd and they won the DTG OU Semi Final.
